Pelvic Ultrasounds

A pelvic ultrasound is the best way to look at female pelvic organs such as the uterus and ovaries. SCO OBGYN Inc. uses pelvic ultrasounds to see why you may be experiencing pelvic or abdominal pain. There are two parts to a pelvic ultrasound exam: a transabdominal and transvaginal ultrasound. Both help us get better detail of any issues that might be causing painful or abnormal symtoms.

What Can an Ultrasound Help Diagnose?

  • Find causes of pelvic pain
  • Find causes of abnormal vaginal bleeding
  • Look for any menstrual problems
  • Check for ovarian cysts
  • And more

If you are having both a transabdominal and transvaginal ultrasounds, you will need to come in with a full bladder. We might ask you to drink 4 to 6 glasses of water an hour before your exam. Then you will be asked to empty your bladder before your transvaginal ultrasound.

We look forward to providing you with the high level of care you deserve. To schedule an appointment, please call (937) 383-1588.
